Rappers always talking about their massive fortunes - what are they really worth?

Note from Kenneth E. Lamb: For many young teens today, there are only two ways out of the ghetto: be a sports star, or be a rapper.

The idea of getting an education and working for a living doesn't fit the cultural framework. After all, who wants to work when you can be a billionaire by playing games or running your mouth?

So we thought this chart from Bloomberg Business might interest you. The solid area represents the real net worth of the named rappers, the cross-hatch represents what they claim they have in net worth.

You'll notice there is quite some divergence between the two.

But when you're rap is trash, what would make any one believe your claims are true?
