Equal Justice Under the Law? Not when it comes to Elliot Spitzer

Note from Kenneth E. Lamb: Anyone who believes there is equal justice under the law in America is living in a fantasy world. Money buys justice in America - not the concept of equal treatment.

Which brings us to Elliot Spitzer, who resigned when his madam got busted and his name showed up on her records.

Now Elliot is running for Comptroller of New York City, and - SURPRISE!! - so is his former madam!

As you may know, Spitzer wasn't charged with any crime - even though he committed enough of them to spend the rest of his life in jail. Lets' be honest with each other - he walked because he's rich and very well-connected.

His madam, however, wasn't as rich or well-connected. She got to spend hard time in prison for her crimes.

Equal justice anyone?

So with that bit of tension between them, this is going to be an incredible race. Expect to see the dirt fly; after all, your madam knows every detail of your sex life, and today's "journalists" love to report on it.

Former Manhattan Madam Kristin Davis, the current Libertarian candidate for New York City comptroller, is already firing at former Democratic New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who just announced his comptroller candidacy against her, on Monday. Spitzer was a patron of prostitutes who worked for Davis, who was convicted and served time.

"Eliot Spitzer broke state and federal laws in his use of prostitutes and paid no penalty; I broke the law and paid my debt to society,” Davis said in a statement released Monday morning. “There cannot be two standards of justice, one for the average citizen and another for the political and social elite.”
